Elite coaches and athletes understand
training at the right intensity and monitoring
performance is essential if they want to reach peak
performance.
At the HPU we give all athletes the
opportunity to access these same benefits and give you
the chance to access the kind of support that was
previously the reserve of those at the top. Our labs are
equipped with the very best technology to enable us to
achieve research quality standards in all lab testing.
During the run test we measure heart rate, VO2max and
blood lactate to give us the full picture of your
response to running at the full range of speed from a
light jog through to your peak velocity.
The results
will allow you to understand your fitness status, plan
training more effectively, set heart rate zones and
monitor improvements. All tests are accompanied with
blood measures of haemoglobin and haematocrit with the
option to also have your body fat and muscle mass
assessed.
If you have more questions about what’s involved watch
the video (right)or feel free to give us a call.

“I have been a
triathlete for 8 years now, but it was only after I went
and had my lactate tested that I was able to give my
training the focus it needed. Rather than wasting money
on a bit of kit that might save you 10 seconds, get
tested and you'll end up saving minutes”
